Unity College warmly hailed esteemed guests from abroad Mr. Mateen Dholakia, Mrs. Meenaz Kassam, and Mrs. Neelu Merchant in the College on 23rd of October, 2010. A special function was hosted in their honour with an aim to showcase the potentials of the students and a brief glimpse of the college where traditions walk down the road of modernity.
The programme listed appealing and remarkable items from Unity College as well as Unity Mission School. Both the institutions are patronized by TMT (Tauheedul Muslimeen Trust) in the same building. Unity Mission School is a charity organization for the underprivileged. It is providing education to 2000 students.
At the onset of the function a Qurani verse was rendered followed by TMT report read out by Faiz Abbas of Class X-B. Then Zehra Akhtar (XI-A) and Yasmin Naqvi (XII) delivered brief reviews of the achievements of Unity College and Unity Mission School, respectively.
The event proceeded with a variety of cultural programmes like skits entitled ‘Conserve Trees ‘and ‘Child Marriage ‘songs ‘Making Melody in your heart’ and a ‘Thirsty Crow’ and lastly the Pujabi dance by Pre Primary students mesmerized one and all.
Dr. Meenaz Kassam highly applauded the brilliant performances of the students and praised the school for producing children with such well rounded personalities who will make an impact wherever they will go. She was particular impressed by the confidence of Faiz Abbas and Zehra Akhtar for delivering such flawless speeches. The immaculate performances buy the Pre Primary students from both the Unity College and Unity Mission School, skit on social evil and the speech on the importance of girl education also drew much words of praise from her.
The Chairman Dr. S. Kalbe Sadiq thanked the guests profusely and expressed hope that the students from the Unity College will continue to progress even further and become torch bearers of society, by rooting out corruption and spreading the light education all around. |
